Our Commitment
Steve’s Garage Doors is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. We believe anyone who needs a garage door repaired or replaced should be able to find what they need here and get in touch with us.
What We Aim For
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target. Those guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content easier to see, hear, and operate. In practice that means we work to keep things like the following in good shape:
- Text that stands out clearly against the background behind it.
- Descriptive text on images so screen readers can announce them.
- Pages that can be used with a keyboard alone, without a mouse.
- Headings and labels that describe what they lead to.
- Layouts that work on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Where We Stand
We review the site as we build and update it, and we fix accessibility problems as we find them. We are not claiming the site is perfect. Parts of it may fall short of our target, and some content supplied by outside services, such as embedded maps and reviews, is not fully under our control. When we learn about a problem, we work on it.
